National Family Fire Drill Day Is Coming -- October 1, 2012
Just one day can make a big difference in communities all across our country. At Liberty Mutual Insurance, we believe it takes communities working together to make fire safety a priority and a more common practice. Speaking of practice, that’s why we created National Family Fire Drill Day – a special day to show off your fire smarts by practicing fire safe habits.
In 2010, Liberty Mutual insurance, along with Walt Disney World's family advocates and the Reedy Creek Fire Department introduced National Family Fire Drill Day. The goal was to set aside a day during which families came together to create fire escape plans and discuss fire safety in the home. As it is important to continue to teach children how to both prevent fire and stay safe in the event of a home fire, Liberty Mutual Insurance provides tips, tools and resources to promote fire safety all year long.
